GN-31. ISPS Code, Ship and Company Security Officer - LS

The course is designed in compliance with the Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS) SOLAS, ISPS Code, IMO Model Course 3.19 and it is a 100% online course held on the GIMET e-learning platform.

The course is structured in 4 modules, as follows:
Module 1: Maritime Security Status,
Module 2: Maritime Security Responsibilities,
Module 3: Maritime Security Risks,
Module 4: Maritime Security Implementation.

The course aims are the following:
1. To familiarise trainees with the ISPS code,
2. To transfer sufficient knowledge to those who may assume the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officers or a Company Security Officers, as defined in part A, section 2.1 of the ISPS Code and in section A-6/5 of the STCW Code, and
3. To teach how to perform security duties and responsibilities at the ship and company level, how to implement and maintain various security documents, and how to liaise the Company Security Officer with the Ship Security Officers and the Port Facility Security Officers.

The course is open to all seafarers, of all ranks.
